This study is mainly about to identify how the non-Arabic student studying Arabic
language as a second language in Islamic Science University of Malaysia. The study will
look into the syllabus of Arabic Language which is target at the University. Furthermore
to investigate the capability of the foreign students in writing, reading and speaking after
the short course has taken. The study is also to examine the interest and behavior of the
Chinese students tow& learning Arabic language as second language. The study
required to understand and comprehend the need and usage of the Arabic language by the
Chinese students. The methodology used by the lecturer, using tools of teaching and
manage to teach the foreign students. Besides to recognize the way of Chinese students
manage to learn and studies Arabic for the first time in non-Arabic country. The sample
research included of fourth-teen Chinese students from the first year Matriculations in
Islamic Science University of Malaysia. The data information from the questionnaire was
process with analysis using statistics and percentage. The findings indicate that in
progress learning Arabic as second language takes more time and needs to know of the
basic skills of Arabic language. And finally, the studies stated an approximate basic skills
and correct methods needs to new beginner's learners.
