Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of religious educational system in prison and discover the problems in accomplishing it whether related to facilities or the prisoners themselves. The Marang Prison in Terengganu has been chosen as a place for study to analyze these problems in details based on the methods of field research such as questionnaire, interviews and revision of related documents. As a result, several problems were detected as the causes contributing to the decreased level of effectiveness of the religious educational system in prison such as lack of teachers, training or special courses for teachers among others that should be addressed properly to ensure that this program achieve its objectives.
