    The collection of essays is the consensus effort of a group of editors for the special publication in conjunction with the renaming of Kolej Universiti Islam Malaysia (KUIM) to Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). Credit must be given to all editors for the good work in getting the manuscript ready for publication. The editors have sought papers that are original, perspective and address current issues directly. A healthy and mature society such as found in Malaysia is perfectly able to discuss any issue as long it is done in a spirit of good neighbourliness and mutual respects.

    Language Testing for Primary School

    The ECN3123 Language Testing for Primary School course was developed with the aim to provide exposure and knowledge to students in the various major components of the English language testing which teachers may use in assessing primary school pupils' English language performance in different language areas. Therefore, this course would enable the English language teachers to gain better understanding of the English language testing components and how to use these testing instruments appropriately. Such knowledge and understanding may assist the teachers in enhancing their competency when selecting and preparing language testing instruments. The input acquired from this course may also contribute in their professional development and lifelong learning.
