Abstract

This study is about Zimmi in Islamic Syariah. Zimmi are non-Muslims that live in an Islamic country and enjoying the equal rights as citizens. In an Islamic country, every one is equally treated regardless of ethnics, nations or colors. Zimmi are not allowed to establish a political party as Islamic system only allows Islamic based movement. There are also not permitted to hold leadership posts. Islam is really concern on Zimmis rights. Khalifah must protect their interest especially in terms of property, life and dignity. This research resulted that Zimmi absolutely can live harmoniously under Islamic country's patronage. Besides, Islam never gives enforcement to humankind in choosing their way of life. However, it cares their welfare and freedom regardless of races and religious. Only Islam can unite all mankind on this earth of Allah.
